Olympia Dukakis (born June 20, 1931 in Lowell, Massachusetts) is an actress, who was educated at Boston University.. A girl of Greek immigrants to the United States, she has starred in numerous American movies, including Steel Magnolias, ''Mr. Holland's Opus, and Moonstruck'' (for which she won an Academy Award for best supporting actress). Her theater film & amazing television function has too led her to win Obie awards, the Los Angeles Critics Award, & a Golden Globe award. She likewise played a role of Anna Madrigal in the television Tales of the City productions.

She occurs as cousin-german to Michael Dukakis, the previous governor of Massachusetts who was the 1988 candidate for U.S. president from either a Democratic Party.
